I was lucky enough to be sent some of Essence’s new goodies as well as some of their fav’s. If you read my 3, 2, 1 Launch off post about the nude range you can imagine my excitement when I received most of my ‘starred’ products. Since sharing is caring I thought it would be nice to make a simple little giveaway for one of you to win some goodies. (Enter at the bottom)
You know what I love about Essence? That is that they’re innovative since Essence launched in South Africa their nail polishes have been under R30 and the formula/bottle has changed three times and that to me is evolution at its best. When a brand is in an affordable price bracket it’s very easy for them to stay comfortable and feel like they don’t have to improve as their price point is so affordable but it really shows that they value their customers enough to offer them the very best and constantly want to improve.
Essence always stays on trend and finds a way to make you explore the latest beauty colour, technique for an affordable price, there is even an “I ♥ trends range” which at the moment is ‘the pastels’ and ‘the nudes’. Another perfect example of this is their gel range, so they completely cut out the middle ‘man’ of needing a lamp and if you have an at home gel lamp well then you can use the very same polish colours you aren’t bound by one brand and few colours as their ‘on the go’ which is now called ‘the gel’ can be used with or without a lamp. The same goes for their ‘the gel’ base and top coat – get a gel look finish without the effort and damaging factor. If you try any of their products I would definitely recommend the base and top coat they finish off a mani that makes it look like you have visited the salon think thick, perfect, streak free and shiny nails.
Of course we have to take a moment to talk about the nail polish tub remover I have been wanting to try this out for ages. Essentially it is just a sponge with nail polish enriched with oils so you’re finger nails and skin doesn’t get damaged. All you do is pop your finger in the pot and twist it around a bit… et voila all nail polish gone EVEN dark colours and let’s be honest dark shades are my nemesis especially black and red! Essence has gone one step closer and made an oil treatment tub which is the same concept as the polish remover tub except it’s made to moisturise those nail beds of yours and let me just tell you it’s amazing!
Back to the innovative spirit that is Essence they make different nail finishes and really think out the box for example my favorite at the moment is the ‘latex matt’ effect nail polish, there are so many different ‘effect’ polishes basically a nail art persons dream come true, again at an affordable price! The other new and exciting effects they have are a satin matt top coat and an ombré effect top coat, both of these are in the goodie bag as well as nail toppers and oh so much more!
Eyes:
Today I am chatting to you all about what Essence has to offer for your peepers. If you have read my 3, 2, 1 Launch Off post you will have noticed that I starred most of the I ♥ trends eyeshadow shades, these definitely did not disappoint. These shadows are so pigmented and really buttery with virtually no fall out.
Then we have the cute ‘Lash Princess – False Lash Effect’ mascara, how cute is that name and the packaging is even cuter with a little resin corset on the lid. Despite all of this the mascara packs a punch, it has a tapered brush making it super easy to get close to the inner corners, it lengthens without clumping basically an affordable everyday mascara – add a few extra coats and it goes from day to glam!
Sticking with eyes we cannot forget about dem brows. For me personally brows are again a nemesis of mine – they can go from beast to slugs in a few short seconds and it ain’t pretty my friends. Fret not Essence is at your rescue with this brow wow kit; a 3 shade set which means you can mix and match to suit your brows as well as the most perfect non granny like brow bone highlight and we cannot forget about the itsy bitsy cutesy tweezers! Along with this brow kit launch there is a tinted brow gel which is perfect for either setting your brows or adding a subtle colour for an easy every day look.
Brushes:
Among all the Essence things that I truly enjoy using their brushes are pretty much at the top of my list, they make the thinnest eyeliner brush (you can view it here in my 5 fav’s video). There is no doubt in my mind that their new brushes will not be a disappointment plus check out that design! There are x3 new brushes; a blending brush which I am currently using for concealer and loving it! A powder brush and a large sponge shadow brush both are in the giveaway, you lucky fishy you.
Lips:
One of my all-time favourite matt lip products is from Essence it is the XXXL long-lasting matt in soft nude so I knew these new XXXL long-lasting and nude shades would not disappoint. Both in a subtle nude with the perfect amount of sheen no over glossed lips here please.
Then we have the new Essence long-lasting lipsticks all inspired by the 90’s nude lip craze that has definitely made its way back. As with every lipstick I have tried with this formula they’re very creamy and lightly pigmented but buildable. It’s nice that you don’t have to worry about moisture loss especially now that winter is a’ coming!
