Elizabeth Arden has had a little re-jig when it comes to their makeup line, offering sleek matte packaging and some innovations of formulas and packaging. So I thought I would take you through some of the newness that I am loving from Elizabeth Arden.
Starting off with something for the lips – Sheer Kiss Lip Oils (R295) these are perfect for summer especially that glossy lips are making a comeback. The idea behind the Sheer Kiss Lip Oils is to give your lips a hint of colour without being sticky or compromising on moisture. These are actually infused with some very moisturizing oils such as coconut and avocado. The innovation here is not only in the formula but also in the packaging their nifty roundish packaging with a squishy center that is pushed to release the product. There are 6 shade options in the range from a light nude to a bright purple.
Next up we have two new makeup items for the eyes eyeshadow trio and the new Lasting Impression mascara. The innovation here is when it comes to the eyeshadows as you can see in the photo these are single palettes with 3 shades in them that simply slide into the compact that allows for two palettes – hello customization! It also has a huggge mirror and within the range there are some great colour ways. Personal favourite has to be the gold within the Shades of Green trio – its great for an inner corner highlight, a wash of colour all of the lid or packed on with a wet brush for more on an intense look.
The lasting impression mascara is flake free, clump and smudge proof. The formula is light weight and separates the lashes for an elongated defined look. The best part about this mascara is the ingredients – this is where Elizabeth Arden tend to always get it right (remember what I said about the Lip Oils!) they always take pride in what is actually put into their products. Within the new lasting impression mascara there is a blend of ceramides (1, 3 and 6), avocado and olive oil even a form of vitamin C is in the mix here!
Then we have the Elizabeth Arden Ceramide capsules these are probably one of the most iconic Elizabeth Arden product in my mind – I remember my granny having these on her dressing table and I was always fascinated with their squishy gold appearance.
The Ceramide Capsules are essentially a restoring serum although the formula has been improved it just seems to get better replacing some oils within the serum to make it less greasy and fast absorbing – I have never tried the original so I can’t speak for this but what I can say is that the serum is not greasy at all and sinks right into the skin makes it feel supple and moisturized when I wake up in the morning. Plus these are perfect to pack when travelling a few capsules into your toiletries and you’re good to go.
